University Marketing is hiring a UX/Content Strategist with a strong background in UX/UI to help create and manage content as it relates to the University’s institutional goals in a digital context.
University Marketing creates websites that serve the entire UW–Madison campus. The university’s gateway site (www.wisc.edu), the campus news site, and alumni magazine are a few of the web properties in our portfolio. More recently we’ve launched several showcase sites including exploreuw.wisc.edu, origins.wisc.edu, and chazen.wisc.edu. Our ideal candidate will embrace working with digital and user experience designers to create more sites and storytelling experiences like these.
The UX/Content Strategist works closely with the web team’s director, designers, and developers, advising on and developing marketing and communications strategies for the web. Duties include leading website redesigns through all stages of the web process, from discovery, research, content audit, wireframing and prototyping to design and development. Knowledge of user experience best practices are a critical component for this position. This successful candidate will be responsible for assessing website functionality and usability, researching audiences and analytics, and leading website redesigns from ideation, introducing new hierarchies of content, establishing tone, style, and a digital vision for each project.
