Who may use the themes?
Only UW employees and students* with NetIDs are allowed to download the official UW–Madison themes. The UW themes are copyrighted by the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System.
*Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) must include the line “Registered Student Organization” as their tagline in the Customizer’s Site Identity.
What are the guidelines?
The theme files may only be hosted on websites with *.wisc.edu domains. (The themes can also be used within UW–Madison web developers’ development environments.)
You may not modify the parent theme or clone it.
You may only create a child theme.
How to use the themes?
Unzip the file that downloads after submitting the form below. Install it in your site’s themes folder and activate through your admin dashboard. More information about the themes can be found on the about pages of their demo sites.
Download the theme files
After filling out and submitting the following form, your theme file will download as a .zip file. You will also be added to the campus WordPress list to be notified about new versions, release notes, etc. Please email wordpress@umark.wisc.edu with any questions. (Note: these emails will reach the cross-campus team that developed the theme.)
